I am planning a second child and am going to start trying to conceive around the 17th-18th...how long does it take for valium to be out of your system completely? I do not want it in my system AT ALL if case I conceive this month! By the way, it IS a perscription so don't think I take it recreationally!

It takes 5 half lives for a drug to clear out of your system.
For valium, that would be 20-50 hours for the parent drug and 50-100 hours for the metabolites.
To be conservative (and in teratogenicity we go with the conservative estimates, this is a category D drug meaning it crosses the placenta AND causes birth defects in animals and humans) let's go with the 100 hours times 5 half-lives=500 hours divided by 24 hours in a day= 20.83 days.
That's three weeks, honey.
I'd wait til next month because you don't have enough time to clear it. Please consult your doctor before going off and before getting pregnant. This is a drug you need to wean off, not just stop abruptly.

I take it twice a day RX for anxiety. Ask the pharmasist or your
doctor. I would think a week or 2 at most?
