i turned vegetarian about a month and a half ago and im still not too used to it so i get very hungry very often. like i have to eat something every hour when i come home from school. today i had two chocolate chip waffles, two bowls of salad, 5 grilled shrimps, 2 special k cereal bars, half a grapefruit and 6 strawberries and this was only afterschool. for breakfast i had two small pancakes and for lunch i had a casaer salad with no chicken or anything. obviously i eat a whole lot and i am also trying to lose weight but nothing fills me up. i try to eat healthy foods alot. if i eat a lot of these kinds of healthy food, will i gain? or lose because of my change in lifestyle and exercise? or stay the same? i cant help nothing fills me and i really want to lose at least 10 pounds. thankssss

People often think that not eating red meat will help them lose weight. In most cases this isn't true for the simple fact that you are substituting more food for the filling protein (meat).

The waffles and pancakes are fattening, as well as the dressing you put on the salad. I won't even mention the cereal bars.

Fruit and vegetables are good, and the vegetables are much better.

1 cup of collard greens is 45 calories.
1 banana is 105 calories.

You can eat vegetables until you are full, and you won't make a significant dent in your calorie intake for the day.

You have to be careful of thinking that being vegetarian is automatically healthy and going to make you lose weight. The chocolate chip waffles have to go, be careful of salad, depending on the dressing it can still be fattening. Also be careful with granola bars. Some of them can be very laden with fat.

Eating too much food that contain carb, wil make you fat no matter if its heathy or not. Having to consume more means that you will have to work out more often here and there to burn down these carbs.
