You can also go overseas and be killed, but you can't pop back a cold one. A lot of times drinking makes people stupid and very annoying. I think people at 18 can learn to drink responsible then there should not be any major problems. The main proble is that Uncle Sam don't want you to drink because he has no trust in anyone and wants to be your parent and be healthy enough to go to war to kill. Remember drink if you want, but don't drink and drive!!

I think you said it yourself. You're ONLY 18. I know from experience, you're too young to be drinking. I started when I was 15 and was an alcoholic by the time I was your age. Do you really want that? Besides, you're liver isn't completely grown yet. Am I to guess you're in the military? Usually, the mess will let you have a beer or two. None the less, you're still a pup, wait a few years. Drinking's not all it's hyped to be you know.

Because the US government decided to force the states to raise the drinking age in the mid 1980's. The feds were going to withhold highway funds from any state that refused to raise the drinking age to 21.
Their motive? To reduce highway fatalities among young people.

Yeah, it's not fair.
They should allow 18 and over military to drink on base, it's the least they could do. (Maybe there could be a limit based on body weight for military ppl under 21, so no one drinks too much.)

You have these two mix up. People join the Arm Force because they wanted to do good deed for their country. Most kids have enough hard time to think for themselves without control by alcohols or drugs. One is to stand up to save the other life, and the other is capable to taking life. It is not easy to just join in the Arm Force. They will check you good before you can get in and have ability to be in.

As it is, drinking kills your brain cells.
I would hate to think you would actually want that!
But in retrospect, I think you are too young to be in the military.
BUT THEN AGAIN, if you signed up for it, that was YOUR choice.
The smartest choice? Probably not. So, hence, it's the same with drinking.

You are immature. You said it yourself in your question. "I can go overseas and kill"
Wrong attitude buddy. Grow up. Three more years and you will be sipping on 'em with the rest of us.

I'm willing to bet if there was a beer in front of you, you'd be able to drink it. It's like water except it tastes like beer. Sure it's not legal for you to drink it or buy it in the U.S. but you'd be able to drink if it was in front of you.
