I would have to say yes. Actually, there is a difference between a resident and an intern but that is another story... When I was an intern, my friends and I went through similar dramas at the hospital and off hours. Greys anatomy is like any other profession. No matter what profession you are in, people sleep with each other, backstab each other, save lives, etc. etc. Doctors' lives at the hospital is no different.

I am pretty sure you can rent the first season DVD at a video rental store. That would be a great way to catch up if you have the time to watch all the episodes. I got into it late myself, and feel pretty well on top of things now. I learned a lot from Lord Z and others' answers.

Read the book "House of God" by Samuel Shem.
It's about what interns really go through. I was rounding with some interns and residents when the pharmacist suggested that I read this book. It was enlightening and ironically it starts out talking about sex, but that isn't what the rest of the book's about.
