If you're taking the right dose, you'll feel it start working about half an hour after you take the pill. You'll basically feel like it's easier to sit still, and to concetrate on things. You might also feel a little more alert and "with it." But 27 mg is a fairly low dose, so there's a good chance it's not going to work at that dose. It might though - everyone responds differently to meds, which is why they start with a low dose. Assuming that 27 mg doesn't end up being the right dose for you, it might take a few weeks of trial and error for you and your doctor to find the dose that works for you.

My doctor gave me the same prescription to try out, but I found that concerta kept me awake at night and I was a little too off-the-walls during the day, which was kind of nice considering before I just wanted to watch tv all day.
You should feel motivated and want to do stuff! The first day I took it, I ran a mile on the treadmill and did all my laundry instead of my usually playing computer games while watching tv.
It definitely helps! I just decided to switch to focalin because the concerta kept me awake at night.
Everyone has different reactions to medications, it is important to find the medication that fits YOU.
Be honest with yourself and your doctor about what you feel while on the medication and pay attention to your energy levels and note any side effects you might have.
Good luck!

My son was on this for a while; It cause insomnia for him. He was bouncing off the walls for days at a time. We had to have him put on something different. This does not mean that it will do the same to you; All meds do each person differently.

Give it 3-4 weeks. They may have to adjust your dosage up or down. It may not be the right med for you, either, then they will put you on something else.
