There are a variety of headache types, but two types of headaches act this way: sinus headaches and migraines, but what you are describing fits a sinus headache a little better than migraine. Sinus headaches usually hurt in places like the cheeks, and behind or around the eyes. Migraines are usually accompanied by things like extreme sensitivity to light and sound, weird visual images even when the eyes are closed, nausea, and other odd feelings. The two types of headaches need different treatments.

Sinus headaches are caused by swollen or clogged sinus cavities, usually from allergies or sinus infections, and less often by polyps, which are growths that block the sinuses. Sinuses swollen by allergies or infections respond well to antihistamines that do not cause dryness, decongestants such as sudafed, and an expectorant such as Mucinex.

The cause of migraine headaches isn't known, but evidence points to a combination of neurological and vascular changes. Most people with migraines get a little relief from acetaminophen, but most need prescription medicine to stop the headaches.

It might be a good idea to see an ear, nose & throat Doc. if you think the problem is sinus related, and the regular family doc if you think it migraine. These types of headaches can really mess with your quality of life, so there's no point in suffering if the headaches are treatable.

Sounds like you are having migraines.

Some helps for at home - though I suggest you tell your parents and get to a doctor.

When it starts to hurt, put ice on the side of your neck. If it starts to ease, keep doing it What is happening is you are gtting too much blood to your brain - the cold will help constrict your blood vessels. If the cold doesn't work within 15 minutes, try putting heat on the back of your neck.. You couldbe having the reverse -you need your blood vessels to let more blood into the brain.

But see a doctor, hun. It could be sometime else more serious.

You need to see a doc and get an MRI. It's not normal to get headaches everyday, sometimes all day. Without having more detail regarding whether it's diffuse or unilateral or brought on by anything, I can only say that it could be anything from simple tension headaches to allergies all the way to tumours. It's probably something simple, but you need to get it checked out to find out.
