Even if you do millions of good deeds everyday, you will not be saved.
The only way to be saved is to accept Jesus as your savior.
And yes, it is fair.

The way salvation works is as such: first you must see your sin----then understand that your sin separates you from God-----then understand that Jesus died for you and your sins----then accept Jesus as your savior----once you have done that, you are saved. The important part is that only you can get yourself saved and it only happens while you are alive, so no, good deeds will not help a non-christian. I want to add that that is the way of Christianity. Other religions have different modes of salvation. Do your research to see which faith is for you and remember that in all faiths, God, or whatever he/she may be called, loves mankind.

the only way a non christian can get into heaven is if he had never known jesus... if they were never told of christianity or what was right or wrong...

an example: babies... when they die, they go to heaven.
they are born with a sinful nature, but technically they have not sinned and since they dont know any laws of god, then they are considered clean and go to heaven.

someone can live a life not knowing any laws or anything about god and they will go to heaven.

if they have heard of jesus and whats right/ wrong, and still dont accept it, then that is when they dont go to heaven, but its not up to us to decide where they went.

According to the Holy Bible, salvation does not happen through good deeds. There is nothing we can do to earn salvation. It was given as a gift.

We are saved by faith in Jesus Christ. What deeds could I or any human do that would be worthy of God? We are saved by His mercy and grace, not by our own righteousness.

That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved -Romans 10:9

no, deeds do not measure up. the penalty for sin is death, good deeds are not accepted toward that penalty, if you could work your way into salvation with good deeds, once you made it you would no longer die because you would no longer owe the penalty. once that is paid what do you have left to give? nothing. therefore the only one who can pay it is one who does not (or did not) owe the penalty, since he does not owe the penalty he has all the credit, and gave it to all who would call on HIS NAME.

Given how many people had (and have) not heard of Jesus, I'd say there has to be some provision in there somewhere for people who do good deeds.

Or I'd hope so, anyway.
