Why are you thinking about getting a tattoo? I am not against tattoos, I love em. I'm against people getting tattoos because their friends all have tattoos. What you get inked on you today will be on you when you die. You need to look at this as a life time commitment so be sure it's something you will still like when you're 80.That being said ...... I think what you're looking for are tattoos done in a style called traditional. Try this site www.tatttooartists.org It is an on-line gallery of the work of over a 1,000 artists. Click on tattoo by style then traditional.
This should give you some ideas......And use the best artist you can find. Make this tattoo a piece of art.........not a piece of crap
good luck

If you are asking yahoo answers or anyone for that matter as to what you should get, then your not ready.
Think about the future and where and what your tat will be of, make sure it's something that means something to you, as tattoos are like a "story on the skin" and it says a lot about who you are.
I have one that I got 12 years ago... Unfortunately I didn't think about location too well... Mine is a tribal cross on my upper thigh, that is 6 inches tall and 4 inches wide...
When I got this tattoo, I never pictured myself a mom...Now I am, and when we go to the pool, I wear a wrap to cover my tat, as we live in a community in which it would judge someone based upon something so simple and trivial...
Mind you, I am 30, fit, trendy, blond, a PTA mom and basically the girl next door... However, I always keep it covered and one day I will probably pay to have it removed... Which is not going to be easy considering the tribal cross is that of black ink, which is terribly hard to remove...
Think about things really good, because if I could go back to that night, I think I would've just got a flower the size of a quarter in a discrete place or nothing at all, especially considering all the super cute washable body tats out today!!!
But if it's a tat you wish, then only you can create the image in which you wish to portray!
Good Luck!

It's entirely up to you. It doesn't help much with the deciding, but if you're going to let strangers pick a tattoo theme for you you're very likely to regret it later on. I'm all for tattoos, but I think it's far too personal of a thing to let anyone other than your artist have any say on it, and the artist should only be there to advise, not direct.
Good luck.

Getting a tattoo is something serious that you should think about before you get it done. If you are not sure about it don't do it. Also don't get a tatto because your friends have one. You might regret. So before you get it done. Really sit and ask yourself if you really want it. Remember tattoos are permanent, and it is going to cost you big if you should want it removed. If you really want it. get it for yourself and not for others. Also put it somewhere discreet the whole world doesn't need to know that you have one, ok doll.
GOOD LUCK !!!

I think a tattoo is something that should represent what you feel in your life, something special, it could be your star sign, your birth year, or a symbol that you can get designed yourself to represent anything thats special only for you, also you can go retro the possibilities are endless. Also dont worry about the needles as they are changed for every person, shop around for a reputable tattooist, I love my Tattoo, i say go for it!!!!!!!!!

I know it took me a while to find the perfect tattoo. I got some amazing advice from a friend and I found exactly what I wanted in just a few days. I wrote about it here:

well, i would suggest not getting a tattoo if you don't know what you want to get. but if i were going to get something retro... i would get a martini glass with two olives in it. that is what makes me think of 50's type stuff... which is retro to me.

You should definatly rely on just yourself for this answer, be original. Think of stuff you like or stuff that you think defines you or your beliefs and work from there.

the needle they use for tattoos carry diseases so I wouldn't get a tattoo at all. Maybe you should ask them to change the needle when you get one.
