Try , but then go to Philippine Air website to double check since they are sometimes cheaper. There are some tickets as low as $600, but it depends upon when you travel. All flights to The Philippines depart/arrive at Pudong Airport.

Currently, expedia.com has about a $900 (US) airfare from shanghai to manila for one person. Apparently, hotwire.com doesn't do flights that start outside the US.

IT depends on the services and airlines that you use. If you use online services, MAKE SURE you book it the day you see the price because they go up very fast.
There is www.orbitz.com
expedia.com
travelworm.com(This is the cheapest)
travelocity.com
There are more, you can do an internet search
under online travel services and you can find something that way too.
