You see a lot of examples right here on this forum. If I went up to anybody on the street and offered them a thousand dollars, no one would turn it down! People would even be willing to do a lot of things to get it- grovel, abase themselves, perform humiliating acts. Yet when God offers so much more, and asks nothing from us in return, but makes it a freely given gift- He gets arguments. That is resisting grace.

Resisting grace is a desire to do right according to the word of the original law. We have a tendency to rely on being good by our works and goodness. Actually, the Word teaches that even our best efforts are worthless in the view of God's complete holiness and purity. Grace is extended to us from the cross of Christ because no one can do all the works of the law. Christ fulfilled the law and in Him there is grace for our inability to be righteous.

grace allows you the power to walk in the Truth. By resisting, you are twisting the truth for your own justification. In other words, you look for ways to live your life in sin and call yourself a Christian in hopes that your good works will gain you entrance into heaven.

To sin.

When we sin, we seperate ourselves from God, and are unwilling and unable to recieve God's grace.
