They may never get along. How much do they fight? Is it just a little hissing and gesturing or are they flat out attacking each other?
I have a male and a female that probably never be a pair, and they do not sit too close to each other- will hiss and gesture, but at night- they always sleep within a couple inches of each other.
I suggest putting them side by side in cages- let them talk through the bars and eventually introduce them outside the cage, in a nuetral zone.
If one of them was a single bird for several years- they may like being alone and will never accept a friend.
All I can say is be patient and give it time.

Separating them for a while where they can still see each other may help them to get along better when you put them back together. Sometimes you will get one that won't get along with others no matter what you do. Even mated pairs do fight at times, just like any other species. Ours will go to each other and put their head down to have the mate preen its' neck and then they yell when they preen too hard. They take turns picking at each other, but they also mate and we finally have our first 3 babies after 2 years of working with the cockateils. They still have their "marital" spats, but they are also working together to raise their new family. Be patient with them.

Unfortunately not all pairs will get along (much like humans)
breeders often find that the pair they are trying to put together (because of their color combination) just aren't going to go along with this prearranged "marriage". Sometimes by splitting the pair into seperate cages for a while you can make them realize that they were better off together but it doesn't always work good luck

if they lived together when they were young, they should get along. Otherwise, just put them in a cage and watch them for a little. Who knows miracles may happen. Tey probably will get along after they live together long enough, but if they start killing each other, better take them out and put 'em in different cages.
