Paralell resisters allow more current to flow and therefore provide less total resistance. Its like having 2 pipes instead on one

Two 50 ohms resistors connected in parallel will give you an equivalent resistance of 25 ohms. The resistance decreases when you connect resistors in parallel. The resulting resistance will always be lower than the lower value of the two resistors in parallel. However, the overall power rating increases. Ex., Two 50 ohms 1/4-watt resistors connected in parallel will yield 25 ohms 1/2-watt.

25 ohms 1/50+1/50=1/25 then 1 over 1/25=25ohms
