This question seeks to know the details of the surname 'madabushi'. Whether this refers to a place in India(if so, where is it?) or just a family name and in which part of India

It is only a surname followed in south India. To my knowledge no such place exists in south.
I heard of a renowned person by name Madabhushi Anantha Sayanam Iyengar.
Mada normally means direction. Particularly the 4 streets surrounding the temple through which the chariot moves are called Mada. In Tirumala hills the call north Mada street, south Mada street etc.
Bhushi means person wearing ornaments. This word is derived from Bhushana or Abhushana.
The person having the 4 directions as ornaments is none other than Shiva. If we see a Sivaling all sides look alike and no direction could be made out.
That is why siva is also called Digambara which means having the directions as his clothes or ambara.
I feel Madabhushi is only family name.
