I know that it was all luck of the draw and it's restrictor plate racing, but it is still an odd thing to think about.

It's true that it's odd, but I don't mind, it does make it seem more interesting. Either way, Toyota will be watched carefully by race fans, and this might as well be their first test in an actual race.
What's also interesting is that defending race winner Hamlin is starting last.
Either way, the pole won't mean much, a lot of drivers will have their time up front since it is restrictor-plate racing.

I think if I was Toyota, I would prefer to be starting further back. Starting on the pole for your very first race (especially when it is luck of the draw) means that it won't be surprising to see that car go backwards fairly quickly. I'm not down on Toyota, but I think there is a very steep learning curve and only expect Jarrett to be at the front for the parade laps. After that, look for the traditional favourites to take over.

I love it! I was praying that either Vickers, or Jarrett pulled out that POLE position flag! I would have rather seen Vickers do it.. but oh well.. He's starting close to the front also! I think it's exciting! I mean what more can you ask for? The team that everyone is critisizing about coming into NASCAR is going to be starting upfront w/ NASCAR's BEST of the BEST! I really hope they go straight to the back myself!! But man, How freaking amazing would it be to see Jarrett lead the first lap!!! Or for Yota to get some TOP 5's!!! Man, I couldnt wait to read what some of the morons would put on here after that..

It is odd but then the fans, drivers, and teams can see what the Toyota's are made of right from the start of the Bud Shootout. Either they will lead some laps being up front or fall faster then bricks toward the back of the pack.

A pole by draw is not "winning" a pole.
The real race here is will Toyota Qualify on speed? This will be their first victory and that is qualify for the 500.Yes Dale Jarrett and Dave Blaney are going to be in the 500 from past champion provisional(only 6) and top 35 in points. So lets see what happens on time.

My only problem is that none of my boys drive Toyotas, so if there is a Toyota on Pole, then it means that my boys won't be on Pole. Other than that, I don't see a problem. Toyaota really does make a better car than any of the three American Companies.

It doesn't really matter about the pole, but I don't like TOYotas in NASCAR overall.

I'm cool with it. NASCAR is supposed to be all about competition.

They're probably going to need a head start anyway.
