I have been on zoloft for about 2 years, it helps my depression issue. I find that it reduces the intensity of negative emotions, but does not make me feel "no emotion". I didn't notice any unusual weight gain while on it. Be aware though, different medications can affect individuals differently.

I've been taking it for a year now, right after having my son. I haven't gained weight but i sure can't lose this baby weight either. My husband said he notices a change in my moods for the better. Over the holidays he said I was alot calmer then usual. I take 50 mg also but would like to up it. I feel a slight difference but not enough.

I was on Zoloft for several months and although the dosage was raised to 250mg/day, it still did not help me with my depression so I was taken off of it and put on a different med. All meds work differently for different people and what causes weight gain for some may not for others.

extremely happy. 25 mg. is a small volume, good to ease you into it. it's going to be approximately 3 weeks once you are able to "experience it" start to artwork. in comparison to Welbutrin - which is going interior the few hours after taking the dose, Zoloft works on a not on time foundation, and is surely extra completely helping your physique in the direction of therapeutic itself for the destiny. you merely choose some staying power. Zoloft has been on the marketplace for some years, and has an outstanding song checklist. that is not any longer the only anti-depressant on the industry, there are others. the only thank you to be attentive to what is going to artwork for you is to attempt it.

of course you still feel emotion. but the medication just helps to even out all those emotions that were going haywire.
zoloft is not an SSRI that indicates weight gain in most cases(some SSRIs do) however, i think sometimes people gain weight as they start to feel better and may not have the nervous stomach they had before meds.

I was on that pill on and off since 1994 and I always lost alot of weight. This I know to be true It does help at first but after a long period of time you get immune to it. I felt like a zombie after too many years of taking it. Also alot of those years are like a blur to me. Good luck I hope you make the right decision. My sister takes Lexipro and she loves it!!

I was on it for two years and I did not gain any weight; however it did not do me very much good with my depression. This does not mean that it won't help you or that you won't gain weight. Meds do different things for and to different people. Good luck and don't give up.
