Why do I sleep so much? I sleep about 5 hours aday and all night. Sometimes I can sleep more. What can I do to stay awake?

Has your doctor checked you for anemia? That's always a possibility with excessive tiredness.

you dont state your age,which might help.if your over 40 and as you say sleep a lot of the time,it could be a number of things.do you snore badly,if so you could have sleep apnoea which is a sleep disorder where you stop breathing at night,you dont realise this is happening,so because of lack of sleep you become very tired during the day and need catch up sleep.if it is this it is easily treated,probably worth a visit to your doctor to have it checked out,.

pregnancy anemia stress depression also you may not actually be getting good sleep set up a camera and film your self and see if maybe you are waking up and not remembering or tossing and turning even if you are sleeping alot if your body cant rest and recuperate then you will still need more maybe you need a new mattress

Talk to your pharmicist and ask him for a low over the counter dosage of iron. Take one a day--- I swear you'll feel better.... You might be slightly anemic.

your just really tired and sometimes in the winter ppl feel extremely exhausted -- too warm and comfortable to go out--- listen to some music or try working out if that does not work talk to your doctor..try coffee too!

you like to sleep i have the same problem but i think you should just go out more or watch tv to occupy your time

drink atleast 10 cups of coffee a day. it may help you stay awke. it aslo has antioxidant which helps in certain diseases.
