I read that a lot of guys want to settle with a good girl type but all the young women complain that they are being pressured to put out early (which they are) and so there is a small pool of women who meet this criteria. It doesn't sound fair to either side so I figure it would be better if some of the old courtship rituals came back, you know where the guy has to wait and it isn't socially acceptable to just cave in to him.

Or maybe I'm just being to old fashioned.

Here's one of the articles I read:http://www.askmen.com/dating/curtsmith_60/82_dating_advice.html

Too many guys want to have their cake and eat it too. They want to marry a good girl, but would dump a girl if she doesn't put out.

I personally think that some of the old rituals concerning chivalry should be brought back. I'm shocked every day at what people consider acceptable dating/courting habits. What happened to opening doors for a woman, giving her your coat when she's cold, just treating her like a lady? I know it sounds contradictory to the idea that women should be treated as equals, which I believe in, but I for one really appreciate a man who knows what it means to be a true gentleman. Take some time, get to know the girl, show her that you care more about who she is than what she looks like without her clothes on and you may just discover a really great person. And ladies, do the same in return. Men aren't the only ones who need to put a little effort into the relationship. We can sweep them off their feet too.

Courtship was a beautiful thing. It really simplified life by preventing the whole "serial dating" scenario. Since folks don't go through the opposite sex like tissue papers while courting, it placed more value and respect upon individuals. Of course, a lot of people absolutely despise the idea. They'll probably be a lot of people bashing it before I even finish typing this out...
