I am totally confused. I am eating less than 20 net carbs a day, and have been for about 9 days now. I bought Ketostix to make sure I'm in Ketosis. I am...as the strips turn purple. Yet...I'm not losing weight. I'm not gaining, but not losing. Anybody who's had experience with Atkins want to lend me some advice?

I have to agree with Kimmer even though she isn't even a licensed dooctor or anything.
Are you measuring everything you eat? You may be consuming more carbs than you think. I suggest using fitday.com. You enter everything you eat in there and it keeps tracks of carbs, fat, cals etc...
You are prob loosing weight but it hasn't shown up on the scale yet. Do your clothes feel different?

I also recomend going to lowcarbfriends.com. It is a GREAT site for low carb support! there are thousands of people on there with advice, support and great recipes!
Don't listen to these people that say Atkins is a "hoax". It is a way of life, not a diet. You cant loose weight by low carbing then go back to eating hundreds or thousands of carbs each day and think you are going to keep it off.
So may think that you eat no carbs at all. You are eating healthy carbs. You do eat fruits and whole grains, despite what people think.
What does everyone think that people ate before processed foods came along????????? Meats, veggies, grains and fruits!!!

KH, you need to learn facts before posting stuff like that. Where exactly did you read proof that this has happened? Thousands of people have lowered their blood pressure, cholesterol and have gone off of meds for diabeties after following a low carb way of life for a while.

There are three main ways to lose weight quickly.

1) Use only water as liquid and eliminate all other liquid drinks from your diet. You must drink as much water as possible every day. You must drink about half of your weight. If you have weight of 200 pounds then you must drink about 100 oz of water.

2) The interval between the eating is very important. If you eat once, then you must eat next after 4 hours. You must take breakfast regularly. In the night eat your food three hours before going to bed.
