I am going digital. I love to take pictures and love to experiment. I would like an SLR, any suggestions? Also any must have accessories(like filters)? My budget is roughly $800.

You're gonna like this. For an $800 SLR, I'd only consider a couple of different cameras. A Canon Rebel XTi costs $800 without a lens, so that's out. A Nikon D50 with the 18-55 kit lens is about $625. A Nikon D40 with the same lens is $600. A really nice memory card (required by either camera), such as a 2 GB Sandisk Ultra II costs $65. You can add the Hoya 52 mm Introductory Filter Kit - Ultraviolet (UV), Circular Polarizer, Warming Filter (Intensifier) and Nylon Pouch for $50.

I'd say take your pick between the D40 and D50 (although the D50 is more versatile) and add the other items and you still have money left over for an extra battery.

I love my Nikon D50! I'm new to digital photography as well and have a great time taking pictures with this camera. If this is your first DSLR, then I would suggest this one. However, I saw a D80 for $550 on expresscameras.com It's cheaper than what I bought mine for. Check them out and have fun.
