I feel like I will ' never ' get back there. I am living in Canada piled with debts. Probably going to file bankruptcy - but .. I did get two degrees and a college diploma out of it all. I should have just gone back when I was 24 and completed University there but I did it here and it feels like I will be stuck here forever. I have heard people say ' dont come back ' on yahoo answers. I really want to though - I miss it there- it is ALOT different over here in Canada - more like the states really. I want to move back there. I dont care about not being able to afford a house etc or a car- I just want meet an English girl and have a job etc..I dont care as long as I am there - I miss it ALOT

I hope you will see England again - but are you sure you're not just living in the past? England has changed so much since you were last here and it may come as a shock to you. If you can, find the money for a ticket and come over for a while. You may find you're better off in Canada even though you have financial difficulties at the moment.

If you do file for bankruptcy, you will feel a little better but taking such action is usually the last resort.

I hope you can get your life back on track and you do find the English girl you so want to settle down with. I wish you all the best.

I know how you feel. I was born and spent most of my adult life in the UK. I spent a couple of years in Canada before returning to the UK and last year moved out to New Zealand with the option to stay. I am 45 and miss Cambridge (UK) but think I miss how it used to be 20 years ago. Sorry to hear about your finacial problems - can you aford to return to the UK for a month to get a feel for how it is now 2007? I think you will find it has changed a whole lot over the past few years. Make a pros and cons list and get a friend to honestly go through it with you - you might decide that Canada is not too bad after all.

probably not at the moment! I is not ethical to move right now - and there is no point 'running away' really. Canada is a dream of a place to live anyway, I love England, it is my country of birth and my parents live a beautiful place there, but it is crowded, and dirty now
