i just got a speeding ticket in Georgia and the State patrol officer didn't ask me if i wanted him to calibrate his radar or if i wanted to verify the speed that he stated i was traveling in any way. He didn't even tell me why he had pulled me over he just got my information and came back with a ticket and said i was traveling 90 in a 70 mph zone. Can I fight this since the cop didn't ask if i wanted to verify my speed in any way? also where can I find a law that states whether it is contestable or not. any help is greatly appreciated.

Get a cheap lawyer that will contest the radar as defective, and reduce your speeding ticket to a non-moving violation. Radars are required to be tested every year, and it doesn't happen.

You'll have to pay for the court cost, the lawyer's fee, and the violation. But this will get you out of Traffic School, give you no points on your license, and it keeps your insurance from going up.

Georgia doesn't offer classes. You are either going to have to go there and fight it or just pay it. Georigia is in a prime location to take advantage of Florida tourism. They can add funds to their economy very easily by caefully monitoring the traffic. Most people would rather mail them the money than go back and fight it and they know it. Think of it as Georgia's very own "rolling toll". Consider this a lesson learned and always be extra cautious when driving thru Georgia.

Any charge is contestable. HOWEVER, based on what you wrote, the things you listed are not grounds to fight the summons. Officers are not required to show the RADAR to the violator, nor calibrate it in their presence. If you can show evidence that you were NOT speeding, then fight it. Otherwise, you might just plead guilty.
