THANK YOU ALL for answering my questions and thank you for being with me in this. Now, to the people who didn't really understand my question: I didn't say ALL the Christians are mean, I didn't even say that MOST OF them are mean, I just said MANY. I also didn't say that ONLY the Christians are mean, I am aware of the fact that there are intolerant and mean people in any religion and that many atheists can be intolerant and mean. I am even aware of the fact that I myself am intolerant and mean at times. I was just trying to say that many of the Christians don't practice the "live and let live" thing.
Anyway, as I said, thank you all, I really appreciate all the answers that I got from you.

Yes, they are intolerant, mean and judgemental. I am a christian too, and for the life of me I just don't know what people get out of being so cruel. If we as believers are to be Christlike we would try and be more like Christ. Both in our actions and the way we speak. But I have noticed that alot of christians tend to lean more towards the "Thou Shall Not" even when they don't know what that means. I admit I am a newbie to Christ, I am learning everyday and sometimes I stumble and fall, but I try and get back up and rely upon what I have learned, and start over again. Knowing that God forgives me and loves me. But some christians won't let you forget that you made a mistake, or lend a hand to help, they are too busy passing judgement. I honestly believe there is a new generation raising up, and the old school mentally of christianity will one day be a thing of the past.

Well, you will get all kinds here. I know I come off as intolerant and mean spirited. But, I try to answer as best I can with what I believe is the essence of the writers question.
For example, you come off naive at best or worse one of the whatever crowd. You believe in the Merritt of other faiths.
Jesus never validated another belief system. He met them where they were and said sin no more. He loved and healed them, but never once did he say anything that would lean toward equality with other belief systems. So you see Jesus was "intolerant."

You don't have to come here to see that. Just look around your office or your school at the behavior of Christians. Just look at the way the vehicles with the fish symbol on them drive. I saw a fish symbol car just today pass someone in the inside lane and flip them off as they went by.
Anyway, try not to let this realization get you down. As others here have said, being intolerant and mean is not limited to Christians.

I even have observed that many attempt to make out like intolerance is a distinctive characteristic yet I guess if it replaced into different religions then they had choose the illiberal to be condemned as far because of the fact the haters are in contact the bibull is policies 4 life

I think it's weird that when I read a question by a Fundamentalist Christian, I answer like I was an Atheist, when I read a question by an Atheist, I answer like a Christian.
I think there are a lot of mean, intolerant people answering here.

I don't feel the same way as a Christian because I am an atheist... but I can agree with you from my own perspective. However, the same is true of some people from other groups... there are a few bad apples, etc., etc..

Is Jesus intolerant for saying "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father but by me." John 14:6.
Christians follow Jesus and this is what Jesus says. So if you want to call it intolerant, I would say you are intolerant for not accepting Jesus' way.

Yes, it's called hypocrisy. There is no "correct" religion. But Christians are taught to believe that theirs is "the way" - and the ONLY way. They don't believe there is any OTHER way. But they are wrong for there are MANY ways. Christianity does not hold a monopoly on the truth. Truth is personal and God's blessings are for all not just Christians.

Definitely, and it is a great tragedy. Christianity is supposed to be the religion of peace, tolerance, love, etc. And yet, so many who consider themselves Christians are the exact opposite of "christ-like". By no means all, but a sad proportion.

Many PEOPLE are intolerant and mean. The labels may change, but the intolerance and hate remain the same unfortuantely.
