Why is it that you have to be right, what would you do If you found out your religion is wrong? Also why are their 10 commandments but none of them say anything about respecting people, gays, bis, or about not forcing your religion down on people, what is wrong with you?

Every time I come into this site the only ones i see ranting and raving about hellfire and damnation are the Atheist themselves. You are the ones trying to force your disbelief on us. You are the ones who won't give it up and let us be! WE don't all judge so don't judge us all for the remarks of one Okay? I cannot nor will not tell you that you'll burn in hell. I cannot Judge you Only God himself can do that. You want respect from us?.Are you respecting us? Isn't respect a two way street? I have never, never gone to Anyone's home at 8:00 A.M. and told them that they were going to hell Never!!! Please give up the hatred. It will get you no where. As for me?I believe in the sun even when it's not shinning. I believe in love even when no one is showing it to me.. I believe in God even when he is silent.I believe that all people even those who do not believe in God should be full of mercy and compassion for one another.

As an atheist I have no trouble with the 10 commandments. I think they were 10 good rules that one could attempt to live by and be considered to be a good person.
Respect came naturally to most in the time of the prophets of the Middle East and being gay or lesbian was not something that was spoken about or advertised. Sexuality was private and should have remained so. I get so tired of hearing about Gay rights and Gay and Lesbian this or that. Get on with your life and stop needing to be noticed or always on display as something to be separated from general society for.
People have forced their beliefs on others for centuries and it's not always been the so called Christians either. The Druids did it
The Muslims did it, so it's nothing new.
The idea of collecting followers is to swell the ranks of an organization to give it power. The Catholics did this for years. They even had maps showing how much of the globe they had managed to convert to their doctrines. There was also a big area known as the Yellow peril that threatened Catholicism and that was China and Russia. .
They all want to be right and some more than others. I listen and keep an open mind on most things but I do not follow the sheep with the silly fairy stories that have no logic. It's your choice too whether you listen to them or just smile and Say in the example of those Mormons "Have a nice day"!

Ti's a loaded question and you are going to get a lot of hateful replies. I am not religious nor into any organized religion. However, I do feel that everyone has the right to believe what they feel strongly about! I am against those who try to convert people though! It is true, many are not very open of other religions, or gays or anyone who goes against their religion. But saying that does not give us the right to say all of them are like that! Many religions also do what you say Christians do and so do atheists for that matter. So what I am saying is, your statement is really quite generalized!

Are all Christians crazy in your eyes? Or just the ones that practice it?
We know we are right because God has revealed himself to us. If we found out we were wrong, then we truly are crazy because our senses have misgiuded us.
The 10 commandments arent the first rules of God and they werent the last. They were just a good start for the Israelites. The Bible does teach to have a fundamental respect and love for all people so they they may be won over but not at the expense of calling what is evil good and good evil. Gays want not only to be accepted by society but told that God approves of what they do and he doesnt. The Bible teaches to hate the sin, not the sinner. so the Q is what is wrong with you?
Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. -Romans 12:9

Jesus said that there are 2 Commandments.
1. Love the Lord with all your heart, all your mind and all your soul.
2. Love your neighbor as yourself.
All the 10 commandments are based off of these.
It's true that some of us tend to be dogmatic and pushy at times, but people are still people - Christian or non-Christian.
We all have our stupid idiosyncrasies - but that's what makes us a family in need of an all-loving, all-forgiving God.
But, remember God has made His point known on various rebellious actions including the various lifestyles that you brought up.
I'm sorry that you have been offended by any one of us, that is not Christ's intent - but Jesus Himself said that He came to bring emnity between those who choose to disobey - even those who claim to be Christian.

Oh yes there is a Commandment that tells us to be good to our neighbors. It is in the eighth Commandment. It tells us: Thou shalt not bear False Witness against thy Neighbor.
What does this mean? We should fear and love God so that we do not deceitfully belie, betray, backbite, nor slander our neighbor, but apologize for him , speak well of him and put the most charitable construction all that he does. Christians are not crazy. When the Commandment uses the word neighbor, it means all people we know. Religion falls into many categories. This is the one Commandment that tells all people to be kind. Not only Christians, but to all .

The only way to find out if is right or wrong is to die, personally I don't want to take that chance! If it is wrong, I haven't lost anything, but if it is right, I've gained eternal life! Also, how can one have any hope without something to look forward to? As for the second part of your question, GOD created MAN & WOMAN! For the third part, I will mention my faith, then if anyone is interested in hearing more I will tell them after they ask!
May God bless you, and may you find Him!

But the Ten Commandments does say something about respecting people: don't covet their possessions, don't kill them, don't bear false witness against them, don't steal from them, honor your father and mother, don't commit adultery . Is that enough "respect" for you? It also condems homosexuality. And I'm NOT shoving anything down your throat. If you don't like God's rules, you don't have to live by them. You seem to pick and choose which scripture to live by and which to condemn. They aren't suggestions, by the way. They are commands. If you don't like it, take it up with God. You will lose.

Great question. I've wondered this myself. Christians do nothing but put others down for the way others run their lives. I saw on tv, a rally outside a gay guy's funeral...and they were all saying that he's going to hell and that God hates gays. It was so dispicable and disgusting that supposed "Followers of God" were shouting these things at the mourning family and friends of a dead loved one. It was awful.
I totally agree with your standpoint.

Well Joey, there is not to much wrong with me actually. One, accepting every person in your path is the route to humanism. Which is fine, if your a humanism, I myself, am not.... But moving on. None of us are always right, probably not even right half the time:-) but really, is evolution always right? Or atheists? Or buddaism....? No? Oh, well why are we picking on christians then? Come on, no one is ever right, and we never have to be right. Secondly, "I would much rather live, to serve a fairytale...and die to find out my fairy tale was fake. Than to live not having any fairy tale...and die to find out there was one." I would much rather live to serve my God, have correct morals, and good humor. Then die to find out all I ever had was good morals, and I now turn into worm food.Than to serve my own selfish needs, and have a horrid personality. Then find out that there is a God, and that according to my beliefs, and my acts of mercy...I am judged. See where I am coming from? what's the harm in my religion....? Nothing. Yes there are ten commandments. And like I mentioned earlier, if you want to go dive into that "gray area" sure, lets go together. First, the ten commandments were the "must haves" secondly, just because it isn't in the ten commandments doesn't mean it isn't there. "Love one another as brothers"--yep thats in there. "Love your neighbor as yourself"---take a stab at where that one is.... I can go on, there are dozens of places God tells us to "Respect" our fellow man, even to love our fellow man. Now, as far as gays, dis, all those...well I love them. Really I do. I don't love what they do, or how they disgrace their own bodys "which is the temple of God." How do I know gays are really a good thing? "One man, and one woman." Secondly Eve was created for Adam, to be his help meet, and to be his TRUE companion. Yep, thats in there. So, thats why I don't really like what gays are...but as people, I love them just as I honor and respect you Joey.
Maybe you meant this to disgrace me, taught me, make fun of me, or just stretch me. I don't know...But I do know that next time let's research the facts a bit shall we?
Good night
and God bless
