It is possible to start getting well while on hospice but you can not remain on hospice if your life expectancy is longer than 6 months.

No. Hospice does not get involved untill near the end and no treatments are being done anymore and there is nothing more doctors can do. They are there only to make the patient comfortable during the last months, weeks or days. They also help the family to cope.

that would be a very extreme miracle because to be in a hospice your at the moment at death. being placed in a hospice is to be comfortable for the last days of life.

They go through a screening criteria and make sure that the patient is not expected to live for more than 6 months before accepting them. Also no curative treatments will be given (chemo/antibiotics, etc.)
Though it is not likely that someone will get "better," there are times when the patient far outlives the original 6 months lifespan (by years at times).

It probably is possible..because nothing is impossible...but the likelihood..is very slim..hospice is only called in when someone is on their way out...sorry.......
