i just bought a new big screen dlp tv i have red and green bars that float up the screen whats wrong?

the bars appear on tv and on the computer screen. i think it might be cable related.

It sounds like a ground loop issue. If the bar is moving from the bottom to the top, then it is a ground loop issue. Buy a line conditioner to clean your power or ground loop isolator.

Do you see them in every input? Them maybe you are in a special setup or service mode.

Try another input, say from a DVD player or a VCR.

Check your TV manual on how to connect it to cable and do a TV channels scan to find what cahannels you have.
