I periodically buy new running clothes, which actually make running a lot more fun. Also, when I am home I run with friends. I recently moved to a new city and don't have a running buddy here, but a bunch of my friends from home made a running pact with me, and we email and im each other our workouts. It's really motivating knowing there is someone else running too, even if you can't see them. Also, we set long term goals-like competing in 5ks-and then thinking about the times we want in those helps, too. And I write down what I did every day so I can know if I have been slacking, plus seeing that i've been running a lot does make me want to run more.
Music is also great but the most important thing for me is putting on that first piece of running clothes...you get the sports bra on, it is actually harder not to go running than it is to just get dressed and do it!
good luck, and have fun!

I sometimes struggle with getting out and running. I really, really don't want to go upstairs, get my clothes changed, bundle up, find my running shoes, get some good socks on, get my cellphone, call people to let them know where I am, and run that first five minutes. I can promise you, that right there is the hardest part of getting motivated for running. I know that after I make it through the first five minutes, I can stay out for the next twenty or forty - doesn't make a difference once you do those first five.
The hardest thing to do is just get out and do it. Incidentally, its the most important thing. Afterwards, once you get going, keep running fun. Run with a friend or even better, a group of friends. Take different routes at different speeds and different lengths. Shuffle along at a tiny little jog if you want to. Take walk breaks if you want to. A lot of motivation comes after you get up, go for it, and realize that it can feel great.
Just to note - it's probably best if you don't use headphones. While they distract you from pain, they distract you from the rest of the world, and you need to pay attention to your surroundings. Besides, it's important to pay attention to your pain levels to avoid injury.

Find a partner, and make a time to run. If you have to run with someone else your more likely to keep it up, coz otherwise you have to cancel the other person all the time. And when one person can't be bothered, the other can motivate them.

Music my good man assuming that you are one.I use head phones the same as the army uses singing during exercises as a distraction from the pain on your body. But, however you feel it in your legs the next day and it hurts like a b*tch.

If you put some gasoline in your hair and light it on fire, you will instinctively run like hell.
