He did. For example the Christian God down through the years absorbed characteristics and duties of the other deities in the ancient Canaanite pantheon. He's evolved and adapted over the thousands of years.

Also, if Gods exist in reality, where did they come from? If they were not created (as Christians claim) then they would have had to evolve.

Very likely so. I definitely believe that God evolves.

There is an ancient genre of religious literature called "theogony..." Read Hesiod, or the Edda.

what's simpler deities? what kind of a life is this? i'm always dishonoured here, people have no shame of farting anaqqing, I know that, when I take a crap, it embarrasses me too, and am depressed. I got to piss that stinkins sewage and smell it. people alway seem to to punish, and loves to punish, did you say diarea?
