Any advice on what i should do? I didn't destroy any property. I slid on black ice and wrapped my van around a tree.

I think the category of "failure to maintain control of a motor vehicle" is a worse one than "speeding." If there was a lot of black ice and a lot of accidents that day they might dismiss the case as just another unavoidable weather-related problem. If I were you I would not bring up the topic of speeding at court. If the officer did not see you speeding you might be OK on that part of it. Mentioning it will only bring up the discussion of why you failed to maintain control and that can't do you any good.
Good luck.

My first wreck involved sliding on ice into oncoming traffic. I was the only one injured, though there was damage to the other vehicle (which my insurance paid). I had to pay a fine and take a driver's safety course. I was on probation for a few years, and then the incident was wiped from my record.
Your accident appears to be less involved. If you didn't cross the center line when you slid, you might well have it dismissed. If not, I hope you get off as lightly as I did.

OK - this is important on this kind of subject. It looks like you are a girl, but are you a boy or a girl and what is your age. This is very very important for this kind of question as discrimination against boys is rampant in this area. Were you charged with anything and why. Like - were you drunk or high. This is important. If you are female, over 25 and white - you will get nothing from the court and 5 to 10 percent increase in your insurance premium. If you are male under 35, or black, you will get fine + court costs, plus driving school, plus 10 to 25 percent increase in insurance premiums.

The day you are to attend court makes sure when you sign-in that you request to speak with the DA. Explain your circumstances to the DA and more than likely they'll reduce your charge. Are you sure there wasn't any property damage to the pole? They may charge you for that. It may also help if you shed a couple of tears. Accidents are scary, hopefully now that you've experienced one that wasn't very serious you can respect the severity of what COULD happen. (Yes, I'm a Dad...) Glad you weren't hurt. Unfortunately you're purse is going to feel the hurt. Good Luck to you honey.

I don't understand, were you charged with something? The only thing I'm fairly certain of is that it will be on your driving record and your insurance rates may or may not go up. Sorry if I missed something there. Good luck and watch the black ice, that stuff's evil.

Yeah, it can be dismissed, if you have a sympathetic judge. Go to court and say that you're sorry, and many judges will accept that.
My first and only wreck was due to ice and snowbanks, and it was dismissed.

you will be fine. when i was 17 there was an accident on the side of the road . there was a cop talking to a hispanic woman. well my car went out of control and hit both the cop and woman. the cop was on top of my hood. i almost **** myself. it was my boyfreinds car . i didnt even tell him. but it was on the news that night. anyway. it was an accident . they did not do anything to me. you will be fine. ironically the cop nor the lady sued me. but the woman who hit the spanish lady sued me. she was the only person i didnt hit. she won because of the confusion of the accident...

It depends on your state and insurance company. If you didn't get a ticket, you could get off, but if you were driving too fast for weather conditions, you could get points on your record.
