My back right top molar has been hurting for almost a week now. I have a dentist appt in a couple days, but I'm wondering whats wrong... I can feel the nerve from where it starts in my tooth to where it ends way up in my head. It's slightly more sensitive to temperature, but mostly just hurts anyway. The top back left molar started aching yesterday as well.

Do you think this is cavities? Or do you think its something to do with wisdom teeth? I was supposed to have them out and never made the appointment....

Any advice for killing the pain between now and my appointment on Tuesday?

i've had sinus infections that felt exactly like toothaches, but the x-rays never showed any signs of there being anything wrong with my teeth. i'm supposed to take sudafed every day and if i forget for a day or 2, it sometimes feels like i've got a toothache. most of the time it's not one specific tooth, it'll be 2 or 3 in a row. the only way to know for sure, though, is when you go to your appointment on Tuesday! Good Luck! : )

cheers,
Shauna!

EDIT: p.s. oh yeah, about the pain, a warm washcloth should help temporarily, along with tylenol. i often put warm washcloths on my face to loosen up all the stuff in my sinuses. i don't know if it helps or not, but it feels pretty good! : )

Since you said one side was hurting before and now the other side is hurting as well, I would be inclined to believe that it is your sinuses. Have you had any problems with them lately? The roots of the upper teeth rest just below your sinus cavities. When your sinus are inflamed and swollen, they can make the teeth actually hurt from the inflammation and the swelling pushing down on the roots of these teeth. Try taking an antihistamine like Benadryl, Actifed or Sudafed and see if you get any relief from these. If you do, then it's not your teeth, just your sinuses. Hope I was of some help and you get to feeling better. Hopefully it's not your teeth, it usually isn't.

It could be wisdom teeth, or even more strange, sinuses. When you stomp your feet on the ground does it make them hurt? I know, sounds wierd, but if it does it could be a sinus infection. Take Ibuprofin - (advil/motrin) 600 - 800 mg. max (3-4 over the counter pills) Good luck
