There may be, but your best bet would be to get her fixed. Leaving her intact has many bad disadvantages. She's at a higher risk for cancers, she'll make messes if she goes into heat, and every intact male dog in the neighborhood will do ANYTHING to get to her. Male dogs can get violent when near a female in heat. It's a bad situation, especially if you have children that may get in the dog's way.

Beauty has no clue what she's talking about. Spaying your dog will not change her personality. The only hyperness they might loose is the "puberty" hyperness from the onset of horomones, which they grow out of anyway. My dog is fixed. He is still 100% hyper puppy, and he's almost 2 now. The one thing he lost was his attitude. Before he was neutered, he was starting to get into a mindset to misbehave. That dissapearing is a benefit, not a disadvantage.

They give a drug to racing greyhounds to keep them from going into heat at the racetrack. I don't know if it is a shot though. I also know there is a shot you can get for CATS that will keep them from going into heat. (my cat had to have one) but I don't know that much about dogs sorry.

yes there is an injection to prevent dogs from coming in to heat. she will need it twice ayear . its the depo shot, the same as thei njection woman uses for birth control.. but you should not use this if you want puppies at a latter date, it can cause her to become sterile.

Please get her spayed! You can get her fixed for as low as $15 if you need assistance! There are too many dogs out there, and not enough homes for them all.
