How do you let a guy know that you're not on a date with him, it's only hanging out. I really like this guy and he likes me too but I don't want him to get the wrong idea. I wanna take it slow with him and learn more things about him. He wants the same. I want to ask him if he wants to do something after school but I don't know how.

In this case honesty is the best policy. Tell him you love hangin out with him and want to just develop a deep friendship, see where it goes from there, open minded and all. These are the best relationships. They keep the mystery alive. That is important. The only mistake you can make is placing yourself in a situation or place where he is confused of your intention, and might think you want more..

just tell him u wanna hang out and that it wont be a date just hanging out its much better to be flat out honest than to let that person think its somethin else

tell him pretty much what you said in your question. tell him you want see if yall can be friends, if yall have fun together. no matter what his dudeness will probably be a little voice in his head telling him "she wants me". if he is a nice enough guy though, he will take what you say as what you mean.
