my doctor prescribed me to differin for my acne. i've been reading the questions on yahoo answers and some people are saying it works and some people are saying it doesnt. and i hear that you will breakout and your acne will get worse before it actually works? also it says i can't eat spicy food or chocolate (and i love those...) why cant it? please help! :) any input would be greatly appreciated

umm it didnt work for me, but it depends on how severe ur acne is. ya thats how all topical acne creams work: ur acne gets wworse and then starts clearing up. it might dry out ur skin and make it red. but i think u should try the differn, it may work for u, dont give up after like 2 weeks stay on it! good luck tho! im still trying to figure out a good acne treatment plan, but i have like a bit more than moderate type acne.

Across the board, a certain med works great for some and does not work for others. You can never go by others' experiences to decide if a med is going to work for you. As far as eating certain things, some meds react with foods in ways that can hurt the person taking them or some foods can deactivate the working agents. Is the attempt to control your acnes worth not eating some of the things you like for a short time?

it takes a little while for it to work. like most acne medications, it gets worse, then gets better. i used it for a while and i noticed a difference. depending on your skin type it night make your skin really dry though.

i was prescribed that also and it did work for me but he also told me to mix it with something else i cant remember the name of. im also 17 so age might make a difference.

You can try also ... Norgestimate .... It may also be prescribed for the treatment of acne
