Other Gods? What do you mean by other Gods, do you mean there is only one God, that other have no right to have their own religion with their own Gods & you can put them down cause their different. Listen to me, listen to me very, very closy, you really, really piss me off, you have to learn to understand the world, it's not God saves us and all that bull. There are 10 commandments but none of them say anything about forcing your religion down on other people, the **** is up with that? As for the other "Gods" thing, any of them could be the real god, hell for all you know God could be a can of RC cola, don't just assume your religion is right.

When I was a kid I was very confused I went to a catholic elementary school but my parents were Buddhists. I was learning different values simultaneously that sometimes contradicted each other. Being young I thought what I was learning was all factual stories. For a long time I was very scared because I thought the bible was law and I wasn't too sure what was considered sinning and what wasn't. My brother found a passage that stated somewhere along the lines that if i ever lied to a brother I would burn in hell. I was so scared that I cried for hours. When I was even older I was very much influenced by my parent's Buddhist teachings because a part of me felt like the gods were more forgiving and my prayers for more important things seems to be answered more quickly. I started memorizing scriptures and learning about more Buddhist tales. However during high school my newer friends were mostly Christian and they started influencing me with god and how I interpreted it when i was younger was incorrect and how the power of faith was different and it was all about love. I tried looking into it but my questions were often left unanswered. So now I find myself an Agnostic. I believe that God exists but doesn't play a guide in my life and i choose my own path. However, I also believe in karma so if i do anything that i know to be wrong karma will come right around and kick my *** straight. the end

I have never had to attempt to follow any god or gods as I am a god, just as everyone else is a god. We each make "god" into our own image; that is, we have opinions, thoughts and ideas about what we are in need of, and what that particular god should and should not do. If we are of one mindset, our god will be the "thunder & lightning" type of god, if we are of another, it will be "god of love", and so forth.
Since we each have, sometimes only slightly, different concepts of what a god should and should not be like, we are in effect creating our own gods, in our own image. I know that the ranting Christians, as well as any other foaming, opinionated religious zealot will deny this, but psychologically it is a truth.
When you get enough people together with similar views about god, then it becomes a religion. Not all religions survive, as the members will die off, and if that god is not popular enough, it dies with those who created that particular god.

No, God will not strike you down if you worship another god! What he sees when you do that is you are deciding to not worship him, and that has consequences in the end. God does not strike people down like he did in the old days.
I believe that you should not be of the religion of your parents just because that's the way you grew up and that's the way they do it; your worship has to come from your own decisions by faith.

I couldn't help chuckling at your question, not because your question is stupid or something but because your question involves a topic that I have loved discussing again and again.

Well, the reason we have other Gods is because mankind is never happy with one theory about God. This has given birth to different religions and their epics. God, if he ever existed the way we thought he did, would never rest in peace what with different religions saying different things about him !

Is it really difficult to see that we have made religions according to our convinience ? Can we really say that what Christianity says is the truth and other religions are all stupid ? This means, we have to accept all religions which of course we can not do. Thus, religions and their faith are a matter of pure debate and controversy and not a way to understand the Supernatural Power.

So no matter how many Gods you follow, you will never understand the true God as long as you do not abandon all religions and disassociate yourself from 'preachings of faith'. By being a Christian, you will disapprove other religions. By being a Hindu you will disassociate yourself from Christ. So how many Gods do you think you can follow with all these silly religions ?

I just answered a different question just before this one on why atheists are angry all the time. I myself am an atheist. I do not believe in any Gods. I prefer not to waste my time on such things. Religion has been abused, and for that reason it reamins. Life on Earth is a paradise: spend it praying (which is fine with me) or spend it doing whatever your dream is (not saying that it will come true). I'm not going to start debating with anyone who has religion, though i read a comment on someone who thought that atheists have no proof of what they think. People who have religion become too involved and absorbed.

I know that my God won't strike me down because he is a God of love. He IS love. I trust him wholeheartedly, and I would never serve another god. My faith is my own, and I don't just go by what my parents taught me.

I don't know if I tried following another God..per se...but I have studied various religions. In doing so I found that organized religion was not for me and I practice a more spiritual approach. Individual from religions and what makes me feel closer to God.

No, I have only followed GOD/Jesus/Holy Spirit - of the Roman Catholic faith.
Why, because my needs are met.
I am afraid of GOD, but mainly I do not want to be ungrateful for all that GOD has given me, by disobeying GOD. GOD asks very little of me.
I took what my parents taught me and added MY life to this knowledge, and mixed it with my wifes faith, and mixing this, it has grown to be the faith I am teaching my son.
Which I hope he will take, and grow it, by gathering more knowledge, to be fulfilling to him as he grows.

No, because there is only one God. I'm NOT a polytheist.

It has to do with reason, not what my parents taught me.
