18year olds are not old enough to make good decisions, most 21 year olds aren't either.

If at the age of 18 you can work, vote, own a car, own a home, get credit cards, pay bills, go to war, smoke, and do pretty much everything else it is rediculous for the drinking age to not also be 18.

If I come home to MY house after a hard day of work and decide that I want to relax and have a drink I should be allowed to do so, but legally that is not allowed since I am only the fragile age of 19.

Most people drink responsibly but the stats are against younger people when it comes to drinking. There are much higher risks associated with that age group. To make it legal is like saying all the unacceptable things that go along with it are ok. There are some things in life you have to earn, this is one of many. So buy it where you can for now and try to show everyone that there are grounds for lowering the age by acting accordingly.

I'm 45 this year and this is my thought. The drinking age at 21 is absolutely stupid.

America is so afraid of any freedom and yes, I have a 17 year old son so I'm not oblivious to teenage drinking problems. The thing is if teenagers want to drink they do anyway.

Other countries find our up tightness hilarious and you can see their point.

My proposal is make the drinking age 19--like it is in Ontario and raise the driving age to 17 for learners permit and 18 for full license. Driving is way more complicated than it used to be, much more dangerous.

If you can join the military, vote, get married then you should be able to drink.

In Europe the drinking age is 12 when parents are still in control of their children. That way children learn from their parents how to drink responsibly instead of experimenting on their own without the advantage of having parental supervision. Also, that way when a person is 18 or 21, drinking is no big deal. People drink alcohol as a beverage not as a source of inebriation.

It used to be 18 in the US. But then in the later 80's they changed it to 21 because it was a rider on a highway finance bill. So for any state to get highway money, they had to change it to 21. It'll never go down again.

Which is sort of a shame. At 18 you can vote and be drafted, yet you can't have a beer legally.

i'm in australia and here the drinking age is 18.
but 15 year olds drink anyway so we may as well say why not lower it to 15?
the reason is you arent responsible enough yet. also i think in america it matters a lot more whether you complete the education you are doing at that age than it does here, because here we're finished high school at 18 and then most of us dont need to go to university for our career but i think it seems like in america you need to go to college to have a chance of a good career.

Bases could adjust to the regulations of the states they are placed in. they are in a position to no longer enable 18 3 hundred and sixty 5 days olds drink on base whilst there is the possibility they'll then force off base. as properly, accountability comes first, then privileges. they are in a position to no longer get a hid weapon enable till they turn 21 the two......

I'm living in Turkey and the legal drinking age is 18 in here. But I think it's not old enough to drink. It's more rational let people drink after twenties.

The 21 drinking age in the U.S. is ridiculous and the highest in the world. We should take after other countries about this and several other laws.

In England it is 18. I would move countries if I were you. Why would you want to love in a country where you cannot drink if you are under 21?!!
