I have a 1998 Dodge minivan and the transmission is broke? Roughly how much is it cose to get it replace?

I need to buy a rebuild 1998 Dodge Grand Minivan transmission? where can I buy it in the junk car?

Please give me some solution about this car. I will greatly appreciated

You don't say what the problem is. If it's not working at all, then you likely need to get a remanufactured unit, call around to a few trans shops and the dealer to get price quotes and go with the best combination of price, and warranty (could be as low as $1500, up to about $4k, depending on the trans price).

If it isn't shifting correctly and stays in low gear, it is probably a sensor or the trans control module. This is a cheap fix, about $100 for an input or output sensor, and about $400 or so for a module (prices are approximate for installed). If it is doing this, then the best place to take it to is a dealership service department or your local independent shop. Some trans shops are bad about wanting to replace an entire trans when not necessary, the dealership should have much more experience with these types of problems and a check out fee should be about $75 or so if you don't have them fix it.

A good rebuild is the best choice if you want to keep the van for some time. Another used one is a big risk as they are known for tranny problems.

please saveyour self the hassle,don't buy it from a wrecking yard.it would be best just to get the one you have rebuilt or exchange it w/ a rebuilt unit.cost varies around 2k -3k inc. labor.hope this helps
