Hello! I would love to have feed back on "is it normal for my boyfriend to read my romance novels" Lately I've been reading different romance novels, until one day my boyfriend ask what I was reading? I began to tell him of the story, and he said that he did want to hear, because he wanted to read it for his self, I felt a little uneasy at first and said ok. When I got done I gave it to him, he curled up on the couch like a female and read the whole book through. I did not like it! It turned me off, I did not say anything to him about it. Now he wantts to read my other books, I mentioned to him no, this is my time to escape and I like to read my books. I mention to him to go get sports illustrated or something, he started pouting and said "Im a grown man" and I want to read them. I said nicely no! and now I fill guilty because he is pouting like a little girl. My bf is 27 and Im 36. I'm honestly tire of him acting so feminine. Pls. give advice. Thanks

I don't think anything is wrong with it. It sounds like you have fallen into what our society perceives as masculine and feminine. "Pouting like a little girl"...."go get sports illustrated". A love story is a love story, and even though most men turn up their noses, it's still intriguing to them. Society has put labels on everyone, a lot of men aren't into all the "man" ego stuff. And not all women like the romance and recipe stuff. I think its great he can be himself and not put on airs. If you guys love each other, and he treats you well...don't worry about his reading preferences. I'd be thankful he wasn't reading or looking at porn. I think more guys should show their "feminine" side more often, instead of putting on a pure masculine "I'm the man"...attitude.

I think that you're overreacting. There's nothing wrong with him wanting to read romance novels. Some of them have really good stories and some steamy sex scenes. Maybe he can learn a thing or two by reading them and use his new found knowledge on you. Personally, I love to read action, murder mysteries and other types of novels that aren't very feminine, but that doesn't make me any less feminine or some butch dyke.

honestly i dont think he is acting feminine. a lot of girls wish they could share things like that with their bf and for them to relate or even realize that they like them. besides its another little thing that you guys can share. you should really try to get past thatun-easy feeling. just because he's reading novel books doesnt mean he's feminine or gay. what would that mean for the male authors who write those novel books? besides if you askme those books can be pretty intense and entertaining to read. ask yourself if you are ok with him liking The Notebook. the movie was made from the book. and its a romantic novel. what can i tell you? escept im siding with your bf on this one, sorry. you should rethink your issue.

Well, it is not not normal for a guy to read a romance novel, actually some guys just want to get into their girls heads and see what they like, or they just get turned on by the fact.... but anyway. If he continues to act feminine, maybe he has a side you don't know about....

There is nothing wrong nor abnormal about reading a book about romance, love, and sex.

Men love those things too, you know. He is not "acting feminine".

Romance novels are not just for women.

No it's not normal! Does he try on your bra and panties on for size too? I'd keep an eye on that fella, he's definately got the potential to convert to a homo...

A lot of Gay men buy and read these because they focus on very masculine hung men he is probably closeted and another indication is that you are 9 years older you are a mother figure to him. He's gay but probably too scared to act on it, probably too religious or his family is too religious or non-accepting
