I believe God's grace is very abundant, but can a born again Christian lose the security of salvation and under what circumstances?

I'm conducting research and would appreciate serious answers only, please.

The Bible says once you stop believing in Jesus, you cannot regain your salvation. So only if you in your heart renounce him, you lose it.
Paul said trying to go back after having renounced him is like putting Jesus on the cross all over again.

The only way you can absolutely lose your salvation is to commit the Unforgivable Sin, which is to commit blasphemy against the Holy Spirit. the reference is found in Mark 3:28-29. God's grace & mercy is very abundant, otherwise he wouldn't forgive all sin except this one.

Hope this helps!

Yes, it is possible. A person can get caught up sin and be led away from God so far that they don't even want to come back to Him.

King Solomon was a child of God, but as you read Kings and Chronicles it looks like his foreign wives won him over to their idol gods.

And then there are the many warnings in the New Testament which tell be "awake" "beware" "walk with wisdom" etc ....lest we lose what we have.

You can never lose your salvation once you have been saved and born again. It is just like your physical birth. You can never be unborn. The spiritual birth is just the same. The Bible says in Romans 8:38-39 (KJV) that "For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Also the Bible says in Ephesians 4:30 (KJV) that "And grieve not the holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption." We can never lose our salvation because God has given us salvation by accepting Jesus Christ as your personal Lord & Savior. God is not an Indian-giver. Once you are saved you are always saved.

Some say yes and some say no. It is a debateable topin within Christendom.

God will never leave you nor forsake you. I believe the Bible to teach that you cannot, but it also seems to state otherwise. The otherwise though comes from the simple fact that if in fact a believer falls back they never really believed in the first place..This is why Paul calls for the examination of self to see whether or not we are in the faith.

No, you can't lose your salvation. Ephesians 2:8-9 says by grace are you saved, for it is a gift of God, not of works, least any man should boast". Once you're saved, your a child of God and can never lose your salvation. I hope this helps you out.

Yes! Jesus gave us a list of teachings to observe and if we dont do them, we can believe all we want, he is going to tell the Father we never knew him!

Therefore, my brothers, be all the more eager to make your calling and election sure. For if you do these things, you will never fall -2 Peter 1:10

My personal belief is this:
If a person has a full revelation of God and later decides to completely turn their back on God, they can lose their salvation. I think few have this full revelation and if they do it would be hard to make the decision to turn away. It would be a very deliberate action.

Lucifer is a perfect example of someone who fits this bill.

I think that the only way to lose your salvation is to turn your back on God. You can repent and get back into His good graces but if you die before you repent, you are lost forever.

You can only lose your salvation by giving it up by your own will--denying Jesus is the Lord, the Son of God.

Of course, to lose salvation, you must have it in the first place.

Many people go to church their entire lives and never have a relationship with Jesus.
