there are plenty of conditions that this could be but if you have continued problems, seeing a doctor would be the best thing for you... I myself have a problem with this but it manifests with working... I get hot and sweaty and dissoriented, and I don't like leaving the house for prolonged periods of time... I've been diagnosed with agoraphobia or a fear of leaving the house or open spaces, it's also a social disorder.

Being someone that suffers from Social anxiety and panic disorder I feel your pain. I would suggest positive thinking first and foremost. And take a chance, people are going to talk about you whether you are there or not. May as well not hold yourself back from the fear of being talked about. As for going to the doc about it, they aren't there to criticize. And if thats how your doc is its time to find a new doc!!! If you think you are a severe case, look into CBT therapy. (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) I have seen great successes come from people who have been through CBT. Lots of well wishes!

You shouldn't be so hard on yourself. I don't like to go out to movies or dinner alone for the same reasons, but really it makes no sense. I don't pay people any attention when I'm out and people don't pay me any mind either. You just have to take a deep breath and jump in!! Do you have panic attacks? If you do that can be treated. **Xanax is for panic attacks, not an everyday thing to help control it.**

Maybe a psychiatrist? You don't always have to be fed drugs to cure a psychological problem. Talk to a therapist and as bad as it sounds, it's a lot better than stressing over the little things in life. Take a deep breath and know that they'll UNDERSTAND what you've got going and that they'll help you.

Go see your doctor and ask about an anti-anxiety drug, like Xanax, or if you are really scared to see your doc, you can find a friend to sell you a few for a couple dollars each.

Just go to the doctor, he'll give you some drugs.
