What are some good gov't org / NGOs to work for in D.C. that specialize in social issues related to China?

Question

I am about to graduate with an M.A. in Chinese Studies and can speak Chinese at an intermediate level. I have a BS in Business Admin.

I'd like to start in September. I am willing to do an internship if full-time positions are not available.

Also, where is a good place to look for this type of jobs? I went to interaction.org but they charge money for job posting lists.

Here are two really great sites for finding IGs. You might consider the Foreign Service exam as well as working at the UN

'Jobs in Public Policy' (periodical, at Washington Book stores)
The Washington Post Classified section (website--don't laugh, it's actually a pretty good online jobs section).

I would note that if you really are interested in social issues in China, you should head to China, or at least Asia. The number of groups dealing with China in Washington are very very few and far between. Most Chinese-speaking work in Washington Government or government-related work is 'security' related (i.e. spy stuff). Just search for 'Mandarin' in the Washington Post classifieds and you'll see what I mean...

You could work at the Asian Development Bank (in the Phillipines) which does a lot of work in China. The World Bank and IMF do as well, but your chances of finding a job there are slim to none. There are also several NGOs based in Hong Kong that watch social issues on the mainland.
