He's a grade younger than myself, and on this after-school writing team with my best friends and I.

And, yeah, I like him. He's cute and really funny...(Ugh, I'm sounding like an idiot here.) Well anyway, like with most of the guys I like, I haven't told him yet, which was good since he confided in me something. He likes one of my best friends.

Typical soap opera scenario, I'm sure, but my friend does NOT like him like that. (She has a boyfriend, for goodness' sake.) But nobody knows that I like him. Although we used to joke around and tell each other that we love each other, but lately he's gotten a bit weirded out by me. I mean, we used to like hug (in a friend way, much to my disappointment) but today he ran from my friendly embrace.

*sigh* Any words of advice?

Well, I wish I knew what grade you're in, because that would help. . .but anyways, you sound fairly mature so I'll respond to you in an adult manner. You may be intimidating your "friend" by his knowledge that you like him more than just as a friend -- your relationship has changed, and he's probably worried by your change in demeanor when you interact with him -- you admitted yourself that he's "weirded out" by you. You've taken the first steps in admitting your obsessin -- congrats! In addition, he may have "ran from [your] friendly embrace" because he is still immature -- you're probably about a year older than him, right? I would say to try to let go of your feelings for now, and wait for him to grow up a bit, and yourself too. Find someone else who can be involved with you on a higher level -- I say from experience that going out with a younger guy, especially as a teen, doesn't work out -- a year typically makes a big difference between a girl and guy's development. Anyways, sorry for the long response, but I hope this helps you. Good luck!!!

If he is starting to be weirded out by you and he once wasn't he probably likes you.
And the i like you friend thing was probably just to see what you would do.
But i wouldn't say anything to him just yet because that would really wierd him out a bunch.
so just lay lowq until you are absolulty sure that he likes you
