How can christians believe or prove the existence of the universe or god? I mean god has no proof or evidence behind him and everyone believes that there is a god. God was supposedly out of nothing created the universe, like how he creates everything else. God is supposedly a he, and white, and not anyone else. The story behind god seems just like a fairy tale and so many peopel believe in him. Not to be sarcastic or anything, but if you believe in god, it's kind of like believing in vampires or zombies or dragons.

The people that say refer to the bible or genesis, can't you understand that these are parts of christianity and biased items. It's more religious than scientific to that guy that said there are scientific facts in it.

To Jesus=God...

If you say that its common sense to believe that god created us, and there can not be us without a creator, then what if i told you i was created you? Not too valid of course and you probably won't believe me.

The problem with Christianity is that it takes things that have yet to be explained, demands explanations for them, and then if no explanation is forthcoming, plugs the god of the gaps in there to explain it. That is why science has to constantly shove people with religious objections out of the way to get anything done. It overlooks the fact that science is based upon that which can be observed and measured, and it does not offer up hypotheses as "fact". Because it is intellectually honest, the answers do not come as quickly as we might like, but when they do come, they are the correct answers. I'll take that over theology any day.

If you have questions which you feel arent or cant be answered read the Bible. Its all in there. You will find scientific statements that could only be made by the Creator. The number of stars and how the world is held up by nothing. Yes today that is common sense but back when the Bible was written they did not know these things. And I dont believe the Bible because of science or archeological evidence I believe it because of what it said it can do for me. And it has delivered 110%. Peace out..............................

Atheists = In the beginning dirt...
Creationist = In the beginning God...

They're both fairy tales from this perspective. Two religions, neither can prove their beliefs of orgins.
Religion = a set of beliefs concerning the cause, nature, and purpose of the universe

God is shiny. And Jesus being born in Israel was most likely a brown guy. Since God is not human he doesn't have a physical 'sex', but he probably has more guy characteristics than women characteristics otherwise the writers of the Bible wouldn't refer to God as He.

Who/What came before this "creator"?

Is there any reference, other than the bible, that proves the "Christian" god?

Why do a lot of theists practice blind faith?

Why don't bible-based Christians follow EVERY single granule of the bible? They don't.

Ex:

Women aren't supposed to talk in church. Immediate hypocricy.

Bible speaks of abuse of children and its acceptance. Another hypocricy.

Slavery is encouraged. Another hypocricy.

Most of the US is made up of Christians of every denomination, yet 50% of all marriages end in divorce. Yet, another hypocricy.

These are just some of the many that I've cared enough to mention.

The most hypocritical ppl on earth are Christians of all denominations...Fundies, by far, and Catholics, not far behind.
Do I hate theists? No. I just don't want them to ram their belief system down my throat by showing up at my front door step, or calling me on my home phone, or giving me pamphlets and miniature bibles that will eventually end up in the garbage pail on my way to the subway.

Back to your question, I'd say you're not far off. Monotheism and polytheism's only difference is one vs many. Same concept.

Another question, though it's enticing to explore such curiosities, isn't it amazing how we, as little blips on the screen of all this universal existance, seem to know it all?

Some ppl just seem to have all the answers, don't they? I guess that they could be classified as god-like? Hmmm....doesn't the bible teach that very same concept?

Typical...

None of this really makes sense until you ask Holy Spirit to guide you. Genesis is God's eyewitness account about what happened in the beginning. We cannot produce the first life in the laboratory, not one way or to another It is just the evidence points toward Creation. : )

Once you have a personal relationship with God, you realize that the Bible is true and it is God's life manual for us. : )

if you can realize that we aren't born but we were just transformed into another form of energy-human form of energy. energy always existed, cannot be destroyed. that's how the universe works, that is the system of life the thing you believers call GOD!

that is exactly my argument when anyone tries to talk religion to me. I liken the death and resurrection of jesus to zombies, and not once has anyone ever been able to say yes they believe in zombies. well if not why believe the same story about jesus??!!!!

God made us, and we exist. That's the biggest proof.

There can be no creation without a creator.
