Normally you will get a CD with your phone which you install on your computer and then connect your phone to your computer either using a data cable or the Blue tooth (Infra red is kind of old method) and then transfer data between the two.
BTW
Pictures captured with the i860 can also be sent via SendMail, a pre-loaded Java application which allows users to send pictures via e-mail.
