Christians pick and choose which science they will depend on. If it cures them of disease, then it is okay. If it contradicts their bible, then it is bad.

Actually they have done so since year 1. Other religions have done so also, but even further back. Remember the dark ages? Sure it was partly "dark" due to pandemics, but for the most part it was a time when christianity and the catholic church was king, and suppressed creative thinking and scientific achievement. Look at where the Romans were in year 1--at the peak of their civilization. Complex machines have been found that they created, and their building feats were amazing. The Greeks also had a brief period of enlightenment. A good example today of religion trying to stifle science is the fight over stem cell research. Fortunately today there are far more people who are not religious in reality than those who are in fact. That helps, and our individual freedom is so much greater today than at any point in history--and not just in the US, but in many nations around the world. The Internet is probably our greatest achievement in the past 50 years, because it is breaking down barriers between nations, cultures, and bigotries, and exposing more people to more things than could have been imagined at the dawn of the space age.

There is no disagreement between Christians and science. We know know the laws of nature and are happy to hear about new discoveries.

What we want to know is why so many people treat the BELIEF SYSTEM of some who call themselves scientists as if they were true.

The THEORY of evolution is just that, a THEORY. It cannot be proven because it is not true. You can begin to believe it when someone takes plain old basic minerals from which the world was created...and make it live.

These "believers" in the common theories of evolution teach that LIFE came about by accident. If so, why can't they make it happen ON PURPOSE?

Surely we have all the laboratories and knowldege necessary to make LIFE if it could come about by accident.

What these people have is FAITH that it could have happened. That makes them a "religion" ..... and not followers of proven science.
