Because the oven toaster is much smaller than a conventional oven. The temperature required for a conventional oven is not the same as a toaster oven. Lower your temperature in your toaster oven and raise the grill. I would even cook it in less time then required. Check your cookies regularly and learn as you go to adjust the temperature to a lower setting. It gets hotter faster in a toaster oven than a conventional oven because the surface area to heat up is much smaller.

actually you can't bake cookies in an oven toaster. you can only toast bread and maybe your burgers cos it's just too hot and you cannot control your heat properly. you can reheat your ready-made cookies in an oven toaster tho....

to bake cookies you need a proper oven.

if you're careful & conscientious enough... you can try putting aluminium foil on top of your batter and turn it to a low heat. bake it until it's cooked and later turn it over to bake the other side.... but it's really hard to get it right with a toaster oven.

Well, there are many possibilities. Some possibilities could be the type of metal your baking sheet is since some of the baking sheets are made our of different metal; and metal have different "heat". Since some baking sheets have a higher heat , your cookies would be easier to burn at the bottom.

Second possibilitie could be that the baking sheet was already hot when you placed your cookies onto the sheet. The cookies also could also have been heated too quickly.

Hope it helps and good luck making another batch of cookies!

You need to lower your temperature at least 50 degrees, since the cookies are in a much smaller oven. They'll take a little longer to bake, but they shouldn't burn.

The bottom of the toaster is emitting more heat than the top, either that or ONLY the bottom is emitting heat. In this case, you should use low heat to bake for a longer time.

Use a real oven, make sure it's pre-heated, and get a nice thick cookie sheet. Also make sure your cookies dough is the right thickness, since that will help them cook more evenly.
