Because, Women these day in general seem no longer happy with keeping just one guy... To have one relationship at once... Yes my view is Cynical, but they seem today to have one foot in the door with one relatioship with out leaving the last one....
She's probably either doign two things, either she is a geneuine good human being and still wants to be firends as it was somethign that could not be helpted that ended the relationship. Now, in more likely, she is still wanting you back and that she is not quite happy about her new relationship. Don't hold your tongue that she would actually come back to you, but she is probably strongly considering it, and if she keeps in contact with you and her current dosen't work... Expect to be the rebound guy (or rebound screw)...
Yes this is cynical, but I've seen this happen to many times not to be, and not just to me... TO a lot of good guys.... on both ends...

Theres a line from "Mission Impossible II" where the bad guy says, "Women are like monkeys, they dont let go of one branch 'til they have a firm grip on another."
Shes keeping you around just in CASE this new fellow doesnt work out, she's still got you on the hook. Start dating around and dont answer the phone when she calls. She will start REALLY kissing your butt, if she thinks you arent available anymore.

because shes stupid and doesnt understand the concept of making somone (YOU) jealous.
see. what she should do. is advertise she has a new guy and he's surprisingly a pretty great guy to be with while at the same time calling you once in a great while to see how your miserable *** (she hopes) is doing.
point is. she probably misses you. and eventually will go to you again for hook ups or possibly another relationship.
It may not be worth it.

Most likely the person she is with right now is just a fall back. She still has feelings for you but she doesn't know how to admit it, or she wants to stay friends with you. Either way, I think you should persue it and see how things work out.

because she prolly still has feelings for you also she just may need someone to talk to i know i been there done that... she may also like you but still like the other guy she also might still want to be friends and she may think thath if you guys stop talking you wont be friends any more

i dont call anyone i dont want to f**k. thats all i have to say. she may play hard to get or one of those other stupid games people play w/eachother, but the fact remains.....she wants the d**k.
