There is a girl at school I'm interested in, and I think she might be a mormon because of the modest clothes she always wear, but that doesn't seem like DNA evidence, is it? what other clues should I look for?

Okay, for all of those who might have something against mormons, let me clarify... MORMONS DO NOT HAVE HORNS OR BREATHE FIRE, YOU RELIGION-DISCRIMINATING A**HOLES!

whatever you do do not ask her, do not even talk to her, that could end up with you liking her even more, and that could lead to love, which leads to marriage, and then where would you be?

If you ever hear her say OH MY HECK! that may be a clue that she could be mormon or maybe just from Utah. The only other way other than asking her is to see if she is wearing a CTR ring or any other piece of jewlery - which stands for "Choose the Right". This is big in the mormon religion. Just as WWJD is for most Christian faiths.

For the most part, no, you can not tell what religion someone is by their clothing unless they are Amish or mennonite or some old order baptist.

I too say oh my heck and wear very modest clothing - that doesn't mean that I am mormon though, I am just a Christian who believes in modesty

Good luck - God bless

There is no real way of knowing, because they pretty much blend in with the everyone else, other then sometimes being a little more modest. It doesn't appear to be an issue for you, so I would just ask her out. I also don't know how old you are, but because most Mormons aren't hip on their kids dating before 16, you may know soon enough if you're under 16. Otherwise, it can come up during small talk. Good luck.

Well the smartest thing you could do is just ask her.

You can't tell a mormon by appearance. Some are flashier than others. I h;ave from the time I was young always wore modest clothes. I was well covered and not very flashy.

I went to school with Mormons and never knew it till I was long out of school.

Save yourself a lot of guess work and just ask her. If she is a mormon she will not mind letting you know.

You could always ask her. I think she'd be glad to let you know.
If you observe her, here are some common characteristics of Mormons. The modest clothing is probably the most easily spotted. The rest comes from observation. First of all, Mormons don't drink coffee or tea. Many avoid caffine. They don't swear (but then a lot of girls don't). Often they seem fairly happy (but then, there are a lot of happy people around, too, and this could just be my personal opinion). Some of these can't be seen right off, but some can.
This is all I can think of at the moment. Hope it helps a bit.

Wow, I'm an LDS (or Mormon) girl, and while the obvious answer is to just ask her (it's really not a big deal),

um, some other hints besides modesty for a high school aged LDS girl would be...

- She doesn't drink alcohol or coffee

- She goes to early morning seminary

- She wears a CTR ring (not all do, but a lot) It stands for Choose the Right, and the letters are usually inside the shape of a sheild.

- Ask her friends...

I can't really think of anything else off the top of my head. Most high school aged LDS kids are willing to date outside their religion (not all, but most) but if you do hook up with her, be prepared to follow her dating standards (particularly about what kind of physical affection is or isn't okay).

Good luck

omg, what the heck is with people and all the religion bashing?!?! I AM LDS (aka mormon) and some people r just freaking pissing me off! We don't go dissing any of your religions or making stupid rumors, my gosh! And my advice to u, is just ask her, cuz if she is mormon she will be very happy that u noticed and was being a good example. I hate when other members of the church arent very "true" and it puts a bad name on us.

All the Mormons that I know, are kind, quiet, considerate, blessed , truly gifts from God, helpfull, hidden beauty, respectful, happy, strong, generous, and the list goes on and on. Many Mormans dress to the style. So you can't go by the clothes they wear, except for the Missionaires. I am not a Mormon , but I have Great Respect for them. Be kind and polite to the Mormon Missionaries, if they come to your home. They are truely a gift from God.

good icebreaker, ask her!
than also introduce yourself.
If you are not mormon however, the LDS church indoctrinates their young women NOT to marry outside of the faith.
it is also very strongly advised NOT TO NECK PET OR be in the same room ALONE with someone of the opposite sex.
Of course all these things happen,

it would be best to invite the missionaries into your home and complete their "discussions" and become a mormon yourself and attend church and get yourself invited to be baptized, otherwise most "GOOD" mormon girls will not even be allowed to date you.
At least thats the way it was when i was a teenager.

I'm really good friends with some Mormon fundies, and I can tell you the only way to know is if you ask, or sneak around and see if she's ever reading a Book of Mormon.

It's easier to tell with boys because they generally have a very Leave It to Beaver way of looking. I.e stereotypical boy haircut, tuck their shirts in, that sort of thing.

You can't really tell if she's mormon or not. LOL. Just go up and ask her what religion is or if she goes to church. It shouldn't matter anyways. But ok. Not all mormon girls are like that.
