I was not given any pain medication for my throat and cannot eat or swallow. I choke in my sleep and don't know what to do.

i am so very sorry i have had this alot when i was younger your throat feels like raw meat or cotton it will feel much better in 48 hrs all i can say is to drink a ton and use some cough drops there is alot of good ones at the drug store ceprical is good bless you this is awful and rest plenty just ask 4 a Dr. note if you need to !!!!!!!!!

I've been suffering from strep for a month now. I take 600mg of ibuprofen 3 times a day. I got a prescription from my doctor, but you can do the same thing by taking the over-the-counter, 200mg ibuprofen. Also, gargle warm salt water every once and awhile. Drink lots of water as well to keep things moist back there.

My daughter is just getting over strep throat, I bought her halls cough drops, cloraseptic spray and gave her Tylenol for the pain. I also had her gargle with salt water. She said pop sickles helped with the pain also. good luck

Make some warm salt water and try to rinse and gargle with it. It helps cut flem and infection and makes the sores heal faster

Get the Chloraseptic Spray. It numbs the back of your throat and you could take Advil also.
