I have a 2002 GMC Sonoma 3 door extended cab I was wondering if a 2000 S-15 truck box would fit.?

Sure it would fit.....but not correctly. Its too small to mount on the bed rails like its supposed to. Plus, you're not getting as much secure storage as possible, and it looks funny.

Depends on which trim, here are the payload capacities for both 2000 GMC 2500 Ext Cab (3rd Door) 2WD Short Beds: SL - 2457 lbs SLE - 2436 lbs And that 3/4 ton answer is the capacity directly above the rear axle, not the entire bed.
