All I have on my computer is the old Word Pad. I need it up for school stuff. Any help? Remember, free.

Check out this: www.abiword.com. AbiWord is a good, bare-bones, word processor comparable to Microsoft Word, and it reads MSWord files. It's standalone: no other programs come with it, it's lightweight (less than 6MB download) and it's open-source, which means free for life. (OpenOffice is too, but it's a fork of StarOffice, which will always receive better development than AbiWord.)

Word pad comes with Windows... or download open office (openoffice.org)

i was looking for free microsoft program but all had to be bought. i got open office. it reads and does everything microsoft does but it's free
