The son of a member of the house of lords told me this exact story a few weeks ago.How long before the special branch turn up at my house.

how would it be public knowledge,the lib dem leader was pissed for years and when his sobriety was questioned in the house the questioner was admonished

A few years ago there was a right old kerfuffle over a file that went "missing" at Fettes Row Police Station. Apparently, the file detailed certain activities of a Scottish politician. The file has never been found. I have always wondered if it might have been him, given the rumours that he is gay.
Of course your friend has third-hand information at best (as does anyone posting here, including me). However, this was a pervasive rumour in political circles when I lived in the UK.
I suspect that, unless the file turns up, the fact that he may or may not have been involved in misbehaviour is irrelevant. We are unlikely to ever know the truth

if he did it would be public knowledge way before any son of a member of the house of lords new about it believe me. criminal records are very easy things for journalists to find out about and the tory press would have made a big thing about it way before now.

The likelihood is, even if this story were true, the record would by now have cleared, as unless it was a serious offence it would have passed a timebar.

apparantly and allegedly he has been cautioned 144 times i believe this is know by the legal proffesion as gross indecency
